Registration opens at 8:30am; Awards at 2pm
Dub N Rub, a Volkswagen/Audi car show was created in 2008 as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
The show is held at Maple Grove Park/Campground: 30 Stauffer Park Lane, Mohnton, PA.
In 2012, registration opened at 8:30 am and by 11:30 am there were over 300 cars on the show field. In the spirit of a show and shine, the registered VW and Audi's were parked as they arrived. T-shirts sold out and registration had to close early. By the time awards were presented at 2 pm we estimated over 600 people had been to Dub N Rub.
Winners are chosen by those who are registered to show, and the people who attend the show. For the awards, I choose fun names to help promote a serious cause. In the past, awards included the Saggy Award for lowered cars, Reconstruction for those in the middle of their projects, Best Cleavage for exterior, Best Topless for convertibles, Junk in the Trunk for stereo systems, Best Implants for engine swaps, and All Natural for the unmodified cars used as daily drivers.
I have been a Volkswagen enthusiast for some time now, and feel this is a great way to combine these two aspects of my life. My hope is that I am helping the American Cancer Society seek better ways to prevent, detect, and treat breast cancer, as well as provide help and hope to people facing the disease. One day we will see the day when no one will have to say the words, "I have cancer" ever
Come out and support a good cause!
